Summary

This full-time position exists to coordinate jobs, vehicles and drivers for the transport of hazardous waste, universal waste and non-hazardous waste from customer and company sites.

Major Responsibilities

  • Schedule jobs and drivers for daily customer routes
  • Schedule outgoing waste deliveries with other disposal facilities
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing loads for three facilities
  • Prepare and review shipping papers and manifests
  • Enter data and maintain records of calls and driver activities
  • Ensure compliance with DOT and RCRA regulatory standards
  • Promote a culture of safety and compliance

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as dispatcher or similar position
  • Knowledge of appropriate transportation regulations
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Education and/or Experience

  • College degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years prior experience as a dispatcher or in the transportation industry

Continuing Education/Training: Persons filling this position must undergo an introductory training program to ensure that they are able to respond to emergencies by being familiar with emergency procedures, emergency equipment, and emergency systems. Personnel must participate in an annual review of this training program.
