Job Summary
Supports processing of police crime reports by performing a variety of tasks for the department with a focus on National Incident Based Reporting (NIBRS) federal regulations to classify crimes to code and enter data into the records management system, processing court adjudications, processing Sex Offender Compliance Checks, expungement of juvenile records, and providing administrative research and support utilizing NCIC/ILETS, RMS, and related software systems.
Job Specifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus one (1) year previous experience in local government in the area of law enforcement or similar area; or practical experience in data collection and computer operations;
- Must demonstrate a functional knowledge of the following computer programs: Microsoft Word and Excel. Adobe Acrobat Pro;
- Must successfully pass the basic and advanced NCIC tests within six (6) months of hire;
- Must successfully complete a six (6) month Introductory Period of Employment (from date of hire); At least one (1) year prior experience in an office environment;
- Familiarity with the dynamics of the criminal justice system and law enforcement in particular; Familiarity with the National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS), the Uniform Crime Reporting System (UCR), the National Crime Victimization Survey, and the Idaho Crime Victimization Survey.
- Must be of good moral character, and successfully undergo a full fingerprint background check investigation, and pass a Polygraph before being hired.
Travel Requirements
- Local travel is occasionally required;
- Some in state and out of state travel may be required for training.
