Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Surveillance Supervisor II and the Compliance & Commission Director, the Surveillance Technician is primarily responsible for camera repairs, maintenance and installation, cleaning and updates to surveillance equipment, and any other responsibilities necessary to ensure an efficient and fully functional Surveillance Department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Maintain confidentiality at all times.

2. Performs all duties of the Surveillance Supervisor (see Surveillance Supervisor Position Description).

3. Installs wiring and conduit for newly installed cameras and equipment such as DVRs, switches and computers.

4. Assists in the planning and layout of Surveillance equipment to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations.

5. Monitor and evaluate efficiency of software/hardware applications and installations to ensure protection of company assets.

6. Maintains an accurate record of video inventory, maintenance, malfunctions, repairs, and usage of required equipment.

7. Assists in all service requirements during equipment installation or relocation.

8. Installs, Services, maintains, and repairs or replaces all security access hardware including security access control panels, electronic locks, card readers, and all related control wiring, etc.

9. Tests malfunctioning equipment and discusses malfunction with other technical workers such as Surveillance and Slot staff to diagnose malfunctions.

10. Provides daily reports and updates on scope, progress, needs or developments to the Surveillance Supervisor II and the Compliance & Commission Director.

11. Becomes proficient in the use of technical equipment used to monitor and record the staff, patron and facilities of the Bay Mills Resort and Casinos.

12. Responsible for learning and following daily policies and procedures for the Surveillance Department, Bay Mills Resort & Casinos and the Bay Mills Gaming Commission.

13. Must attend all mandatory trainings designated by the Human Resources Department and/or Department Directing, including Title 31.

14. Performs and ensures compliance with the Bay Mills Gaming Commission Rules and Regulations.

15. Other duties as assigned by the Surveillance Supervisor II or the Compliance & Commission Director that assist with the efficient and professional performance of the Surveillance Department.

Requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand with occasional siting and walking. Occasionally the employee must bend, squat, crouch, kneel, climbing, balance, and push/pull. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and recurring lifting of moderately heavy items such as computers and monitors. The employee is regularly exposed to dust.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must have a high School Diploma or equivalent.

2. Must be a current Surveillance Monitor and have one year of Surveillance experience.

3. Completed all Surveillance departmental training requirements and 10 hours of online Pelco training required.

4. Must be able to obtain a gaming license through the Bay Mills Gaming Commission and maintain eligibility throughout employment.

5. Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and on-call.

6. Must be willing to take responsibility when asked and maintain strict confidentiality.

7. Must be able to use a computer, including Word, Excel, Outlook etc.

8. Excellent communication skills and be able to successfully fulfill the reporting requirements of the department.

9. Must have the ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision.

10. Must have excellent investigative skills.

11. Must demonstrate effective leadership and supervisory skills.

12. Must be able to attend and successfully complete all required training courses.

13. Must have an actively working communication media source to communicate with staff while off property or on-call.

14. To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each function listed under the essential functions and physical demands categories of this position description.
