Summary

Rough Mill Lift Truck Operator I 3rd ShiftPosition OverviewPosition Objective: Transport raw materials and finished product to and from the Rough Saw/Machining department to ensure that the flow of product is uninterrupted.Essential Duties:1. Offload finished product and transport to WIP racks.2. Offload Pressing panels to Rough saw staging area two (2) rows, two (2) deep for a total of eight (8).3. When operating the lift truck in the rough saw area:a. Check for any type of debris on pressed bundle once the top board has been removed.i. Debris will include chunks or pieces of bottom board.ii. Loose veneer, etc…4. All required bundles from the Auto Distressing are to be staged in the Review Area by seven (7:00AM).5. Place packaging materials in appropriate locations.6. Locate material in shop floor system and place on line.7. Empty dumpsters.8. Load baseboards for stacker9. Help package pallets of wood product for shipment or storage. Machining bundles that require a pallet will need straps and fiber edge protectors before shipping. Scrap will not need the protectors added.10. Follow specific instructions on each order.11. Achieve set quality standards.12. Keep machines and work area clean and free of dust.13. Dump broken pallets.14. Count and chip all half/full panels in Rough Saw area as needed.15. Pick up any bolsters or strapping from the floor area and place in designated locations once material has been removed from them. Bolsters are to be picked up from location as you remove bundles. All broken bolsters must be picked up from the floor and thrown into the dumpster.16. Keep lift trucks on charger during breaks and when not in use. At end of shift ensure lift trucks are plugged up.17. Make sure at end of shift all bundle top cover boards are removed from Rough Saw in feed.18. Only stack materials in designated areas and always ensure materials are clear off the walls.19. Ensure no boards/planks are leaned on fence.20. Ensure all materials processed in a line are issued to that line.21. When running styles 0299W and 0300W on the line:a. LTO will be notified by the Profiler when starting and completing order.1. LTO will move cart and pallet rack into position on the line when order is started.2. LTO will move cart and pallet rack back to the 5S staging location when order is completed.22. LTO is required to inspect ½ bottom boards before setting on the line in either the rough saw or machining areas. Any planks still left on bottom boards will need to be removed prior to loading them to the line. Empty pressing bottom boards are to be returned to the Pressing Bottom Board squeezer located at the infeed area of pressing by the Rough Saw LTO.23. Perform other requested duties as requested by Lead or Supervisor.Non-Essential Duties:1. Must be a team player2. Take an active role in committees.3. Cross-training for other jobs on rough saw/machining lines.Physical Requirements:1. Must be able to bend, squat, and stoop several times a day.2. Must be able to stand for 8 – 12 hours a day.3. Must be able to climb stairs several times throughout the day.4. Must be able to assist in lifting up to 75 lbs. several times a day.5. Must be able to lift 35-50 lbs. on a regular basis throughout the day.6. Must be able to handle the stress of meeting goals and production requirements.7. Must pass vision screening.Other Requirements:1. Basic reading, writing, and math ability.2. Must be able to operate a lift truck once trained.3. Must be capable of learning and performing additional operations.4. Must be capable of being trained on current computer systems and software.Training Requirements:1. On the job training2. Must have all OSHA, SAFE, SMS, and plant specific training.3. Certified Lift Truck Driver4. Lockout/tagout Training (Authorized or Affected)Tool, Equipment, & Material Requirements:1. Safety Glasses2. PPE listed on JHASafety & Security Requirements:1. Must comply with all required OSHA, SAFE, and plant specific safety rules and regulations.2.
