Description for Candidates:

Perform operational functions for the region such as traffic control, public safety, communications, removal of disabled vehicles and enforcement of facility regulations.

How you will contribute: Communication: Coordinate and conduct facility communications via radio, and telephone in a clear and concise manner. Proactively respond to customers (motorists, co-workers, etc.). Provide clear, accurate information and directions in a friendly, courteous and a professional manner. Recordkeeping: Maintain logs and reports as described in Standard Operating Procedures and other applicable policies. TMS Systems: Provide effective traffic control by operating and monitoring TMS systems (CCTV monitors, CO Analyzers, Haze Detectors, fire alarms, traffic map board, NewTon, etc.) and operating active components when appropriate. Traffic Management and Facility Operations: Conduct traffic management and facility operations by understanding and applying Standard Operating Procedures and other applicable policies and regulations. Respond to routine and emergency situations.

Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to gather data and prepare reports. Ability to operate and maintain equipment used on bridges, tunnels and roadways. Knowledge of Bridge and Tunnel operations. Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures and other applicable policies and regulations governing emergency and non-emergency traffic situations. Skill in providing good customer service. Skill in the use of computers and software applications.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to gather data and prepare reports. Ability to operate, maintain equipment used on bridges, tunnels and roadways. Knowledge of Bridge and Tunnel operations. Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures, other applicable policies and regulations governing emergency and non-emergency traffic situations. Skill in providing good customer service. Skilled in using computers. Valid driver's license.
Additional Considerations:
High school diploma or GED desired.
