    New Salary: $57.58 (Effective April 1, 2024)

    July 2025: $60.46

    July 2026: $62.88

    IMPORTANT INFORMATION

    APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
    As part of the application process, Police Officer Trainee applicants are required to complete the POST Entry Level Law Enforcement Test Battery (PELLETB - written test) and the POST Work Sample Test Battery (WSTB - physical agility test) and a 1.5 mile run.
    Applications must include Pellet-B and WSTB score dated within one year with a minimum passing score of 42.

    Select police academies will administer these specific written and physical agility tests.
    Applicants are responsible for any associated test fees, and must contact the testing agency directly to schedule. For scheduling information on the physical agility test, please click HERE ; and the written test, please click HERE .

    The Police Officer Trainee classification is an at-will, full-time unrepresented employee with benefits limited to "family medical" as defined in the Police Officers Association Memorandum of Understanding. Upon successful completion of the academy, Police Trainees will be eligible for appointment to Police officer with the attendant salary and benefits offered to members of the POA.
