Job SummaryUnder the general direction of the Assistant Director, Budget & Facilities Manager, the incumbent provides professional pharmaceutical services to students at CSULB Health Services. The pharmacist performs the full range of general licensed pharmacist duties, including consulting with the prescriber and patient; identifying, evaluating, and interpreting prescriptions; and dispensing of medications, vaccines, and other therapeutic agents; and ensuring pharmacy programs and operations and the delivery of pharmacy services follow established professional standards and applicable federal and state regulations. Incumbents may be responsible for some or all aspects of pharmacy administration, which may include serving as the Pharmacist-in-Charge, as defined, and required by the California Board of Pharmacy.
Furthermore, the incumbent provides services that are equitable, inclusive, and culturally sensitive to enhance the quality of campus life. This position uses a student-centered and equity-minded approach in all communication and service efforts.
Key Responsibilities - Process, fill & consult on prescription and OTC's (Over the Counter Medication).
- Maintain detailed prescription records.
- Keep current on pharmacy advances.
- Provide SHS support in the following areas: Developing formularies, inventory control and staffing needs; ensure the pharmacy follows all state and federal licensing and regulatory requirements.

Education and ExperienceEquivalent to a bachelor's degree from a recognized and accredited college of pharmacy program as defined by the California Board of Pharmacy required one year of experience working in a pharmacy setting required.

Licenses / CertificatesPossession of valid license to practice as a registered pharmacist, as defined and required by the California State Board of Pharmacy required. State of California Pharmacy License, current & active status.

CompensationThe salary range for this classification is $51.87 to $100.10 per hour.
Time BaseHourly/intermittent on call temporary position. Successful candidates may be appointed for a few days and up to one (1) year depending on the assignment. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
