The Job
San Bernardino County Regional Parks is currently seeking energetic and customer service focused individuals that enjoy the great outdoors to fill part-time, seasonal positions. Park Aides* contribute to the maintenance and cleanliness of the parks, provide customer service, and assist Regional Parks staff during events.
This recruitment will be used to fill positions throughout the Regional Parks in San Bernardino County. Park locations are: Prado (Chino), Cucamonga-Guasti (Ontario), Glen Helen (San Bernardino), Mojave Narrows (Victorville), Calico Ghost Town (Yermo, near Barstow), and Yucaipa (Yucaipa). ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Regional Parks Department manages and maintains nine (9) Regional Parks throughout San Bernardino County totaling approximately 8,000 acres with one (1) Preserve and one (1) Regional Trail. Each park offers diverse outdoor recreation opportunities in settings that range from metropolitan, mountain and desert scenery. Regional Parks offers opportunities for residents and visitors to host events or enjoy the beauty offered by the County’s natural and cultural resources. Employee opportunities range from customer service to program coordination, as well as maintenance and safety. Regional Parks is constantly evolving to offer the best opportunities for its visitors and employees.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Availability: Must be available to work varied schedules, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Positions are part-time (0-30 hours/week). Assignments and schedules are made based on the needs of the Parks Department. These are seasonal positions working a varied schedule throughout the year based on peak tour seasons.
Public Service Employees: These are recurrent, non-regular positions classified as a Public Service Employee (PSE). The successful candidate shall be considered at-will throughout the term of their employment, and will not attain regular status.
Pre-Employment Process: Incumbents must successfully complete a background check, including fingerprinting, prior to appointment.
Physical: This position requires frequent lifting, carrying, and moving of items weighing up to 60 pounds as well as walking, standing, kneeling, stooping, and climbing on uneven surfaces. Employees work outdoors year-round under extreme weather conditions.
Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is unable to consider to candidates who require Visa Sponsorship at this time or in the future. Candidates must be able to present their legal right to work in the United States at the time of employment.

No experience required.
Desired Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be extremely outgoing, upbeat, and positive; excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skill; experience in theater/performing arts or historical reenacting; bilingual abilities strongly desired.
