    Attention sports lovers! Join our stellar team as a Middle School Athletic Coach II!
    Join our dynamic team as a part-time Middle School Athletic Coach II (Recreation Leader II) at one of three middle schools: Fletcher, Greene, or JLS Middle School. This role offers increased responsibility and leadership opportunities within our athletics program. We seek individuals with a strong passion for working with middle school students, fostering their athletic development, and promoting teamwork and sportsmanship. If you have exceptional communication skills, organizational abilities, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service, we want to hear from you!
    Duties :
    • Develop and execute a strategic practice schedule for the designated sports team(s), optimizing practice time and resources to enhance player performance.
    • Provide advanced coaching and instruction to middle school athletes, focusing on fundamental skills, strategic insights, and character development within the sport(s) being coached.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that prioritizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and individual growth, creating an environment where every athlete can thrive.
    • Maintain regular communication with parents through various channels, including email and phone, to provide updates on practice schedules, game schedules, transportation arrangements, and other essential information.
    • Collaborate closely with school administration, fellow coaches, and athletic staff to coordinate logistics, address challenges, and elevate the overall quality of the athletics program.
    • Actively participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to refine coaching techniques and stay abreast of best practices in athletic coaching.
    • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations during all athletic activities, prioritizing the well-being of student-athletes above all else.

    Desired Qualifications :
    • Previous coaching experience at the middle school or youth level, and leadership within athletics programs, is highly preferred.
    • Deep understanding of the rules, strategies, and techniques relevant to the sport(s) being coached, coupled with the ability to effectively teach and implement them with student-athletes.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a talent for engaging students, parents, and colleagues in meaningful dialogue and collaboration.
    • Strong organizational abilities, including the capacity to develop and execute practice schedules, and manage logistical details.
    • Dedication to providing exceptional customer service and creating a positive experience for all participants involved in the athletics program, fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie.


    Schedule:
    • Part-time, with flexible hours based on practice and game schedules.
    • Evening availability required during the sports season(s).

      This is a Limited Hourly position, non-benefited, with a maximum of 416 hours per fiscal year (July - June). The number of hours per week and schedule will be determined based on your assignment.
