ATL26 is looking for an exceptional storyteller/writer/producer to create engaging content our viewers can’t resist watching and sharing. The Multimedia Producer will collaborate with the Mayor’s Office of Communications and city departments to engage in civic storytelling and produce content showcasing the City of Atlanta’s services, programs, and features. The Multimedia Producer will also support live broadcasts of the City’s meetings and events, and program content for the 24-hour channel.

• Enterprise, interview, report, shoot, edit and distribute content for broadcast and social media platforms.
• Coordinate with city departments to write, shoot and produce PSAs and other videos utilizing motion graphics, text, music, and other elements.
• Collaborate with the Mayor’s Office of Communications (MOC) on live coverage including press conferences, meetings, and events.
• Direct live broadcasts and assist with AV needs for city meetings and events.
• Produce, shoot, and edit weekly Mayor Recordings.
• Assist MOC and City Council staff with special assignments.
• Work to increase engagement and subscribers on ATL26 social media platforms.
• Build relationships and contacts with other departments to find valuable news stories and content ideas.
• Creatively implement new styles of content and civic storytelling.
• Ensure all content meets ATL26 style and integrity standards.
• Maintain production equipment.
• May perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

• Strong working knowledge of control room operations, technologies and production techniques including audio video equipment, post-production procedures, broadcast programming techniques, and television graphic design methods.

• Ability to learn new technologies and be trained on various systems including Ross’ Quorum/Xpression, Cablecast and CHAMP/EarthChannel.

• Live broadcast reporting experience.

• Proficient with a variety of cameras, including Sony PXW-X320 and Panasonic in-studio and field units.
• Proficient in Adobe Premiere and Creative Cloud Suite, and After Effects.
• Working knowledge of control room operations and production technologies including LiveU, and audio visual equipment.
• Capable of directing live broadcasts and digital programs including live punching of camera and effects sources via a video switcher.
• Must be willing to work evenings and nights. Occasional weekend work may be required.
• Must be able to lift and set up equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record
5+ years of broadcast or journalism experience, including on-air presence. Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered.
