Job Characteristics***PART-TIME JOB OPPORTUNITY***SCOREKEEPERADULT SPORTS The City of Concord's Recreation Services Department is seeking people to work for the City's Adult Sports Program. This recruitment will be used to fill current vacancies at Willow Pass Community Center, and also establish an eligibility list to fill future positions as they become available. Salary is negotiable based on experience.
Adult Sports Program
The City of Concord offers a variety of recreational activities for adults including a robust sports program. Residents can play bocce ball at various courts, chicago ball in a co-ed league, cornhole at Willow Pass Community Center, flag football, and tennis. The City boasts one of the largest adult softball leagues in the area, serving over 250 teams running year-round at Willow Pass Park. We are also the home of one of the largest pickleball complexes in Northern California with 14 dedicated pickleball courts available for all ages and skill levels.
What you will be doing: The Scorekeeper will work with umpires and field supervisors to ensure a quality game experience for all players. Knowing how to keep score is not required as training will be provided. Applicants should enjoy being around sports and be familiar with softball or baseball.
All positions are part time, limited service and must be able to work from 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m., any day of the week. Schedule may vary based on scheduled games, availability, and age.

QualificationsKnowledge of:- Softball, baseball or related sports
Ability to:- Work and think independently and act with sound judgment
- Manage time well and work within time constraints
- Communicate verbally and in writing in English
- Follow written and verbal instructions
- Provide information to the public
- Work cooperatively with colleagues and the public
- Be flexible and perform other duties as assigned
Education: None required
Experience: None required. Softball experience is desirable.
Certifications: None required. Must successfully complete American Red Cross Standard First Aid and CPR/AED training at time of hire, if not already certified.
OtherA valid California Drivers License and satisfactory driving history is a condition of initial and continued employment for select positions. Must be able to pass fingerprint check.
