    The Job

    The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) Clinical Ladder was developed to recognize and reward clinical expertise and professional growth based on established standards. This application process will promote accountability, autonomy, and collaboration resulting in increased professional satisfaction and organizational commitment.

    Arrowhead Regional Medical Center is committed to promoting excellence in respiratory care thus enhancing quality patient care and patient satisfaction.

    Minimum Requirements

    There are four levels of the RCP Clinical Ladder program. Applicants will be placed on the ladder based on their years of work experience, education, state and national credentials, competencies, certificates, continuing education units, and organizational contributions.

    Selection Process

    RCP Clinical Ladders Program Portfolio Submittal:
    As part of the RCP Clinical Ladders Program, interested Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCPII) must complete this application, which will present as your portfolio for program consideration.

    Contents of this portfolio will include the following items:
    • Completed Employee Portfolio (Click APPLY to get started)
    Upload in PDF format with your application:
    • Current resume or curriculum vitae
    • Licenses, certificates, credentials, etc.
    • Degree(s)
    • Proof of quarterly CEUs
    • Most recent WPE
    RCP Clinical Ladder Review Committee Review Process:
    The process will involve the following steps: This submitted portfolio will be reviewed by committee members.The applicant will be contacted to schedule an interview with the Committee to discuss your current practice. Your manager will also receive notification to assist with any scheduling conflicts.All committee recommendations to admit an applicant into the program or to advance an employee to a higher level are subject to the review and approval of the ARMC Chief Executive Officer or their designee.The chairperson or their designee will meet with the participant to discuss the outcomes of the evaluation and provide feedback to support the participant's professional growth.Selected program participants who meet and maintain all program requirements (see Requirements) shall receive a Clinical Ladders differential above their base hourly rate for all paid hours, up to their standard hours per pay period. The RCP Clinical Ladder Review Committee is comprised of:
    • Associate Hospital Administrator
    • Director or the Assistant Director of Respiratory Care Services
    • One (1) Supervising Respiratory Care Practitioner
    • Two (2) Active Respiratory Care Practitioner IIs
    • One (1) Representative from Human Resources
    All submitted materials will be handled in a strict confidential manner.

    Frequency of Review:
    A completed portfolio must by submitted one (1) month PRIOR to the regularly scheduled review period held every April and October, and are as follows:
    • Activities performed between October 1 thru March 31st
      • Submit by March 31st for the April Review
    • Activities performed between April 1 thru September 30th
      • Submit by September 30th for the October Review
    If items are missing from your portfolio, you will be notified and your application may be held pending completion.
