VIOLENCE PREVENTION SUPERVISOR

Two full-time positions available with the Health Department, Behavior Health and Injury Prevention (Aim4Peace) Division located at 2400 Troost
Salary Range: $18.61-$29.39/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Non-traditional hours: Tuesday-Thursday 12/l00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 3"00 p.m.-12:00 a.m. (on-demand in emergency situations)

Responsibilities

• Ensures efficient operation of a comprehensive public health program.
• Performs highly complex, difficult professional and administrative public health work.
• Supervises assigned staff and coordinates all assigned work, including personnel matters and operating rules and regulations.
• Exercises considerable initiative and judgment.
• Work accomplishments are judged by an administrative superior through conferences, written reports and results achieved.

Qualifications

REQUIRES high school graduation and 3 years of applicable experience working with high-risk individuals between the ages of 16-40 under the Cure Violence / Aim4Peace model.

The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
