    The Position

    Licensed Psychologists provide psychological testing, evaluation, psychotherapy, counseling, and consultation to clients or inmates in residential, inpatient and outpatient settings, at a mental health, intellectual disabilities, or correctional facility, or in other settings where psychological services are provided.

    Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is currently recruiting for a full-time Licensed Psychologist 1 in Carson City, Nevada. This recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur in the following program: Rural Regional Center (RRC).

    Licensed Psychologist incumbents are to conduct psychological evaluations to inform eligibility decisions, perform psychological consultations and evaluations to assist in service planning for persons served by RRC. The incumbent will also provide training to RRC and direct support professional staff on topics relevant to service and delivery. The Licensed Psychologist will participate in RRC Eligibility Review Committee of applications for services and agency work groups and committees, as needed. Lastly, the incumbent must provide services online via telehealth technology and travel, including overnight throughout rural Nevada. This is a supervisory position overseeing a Mental Health Counselor 2. ADSD provides an atmosphere of innovative thinking, teamwork, friendly co-workers, and positive work settings.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) One year of post-doctoral experience in providing psychological services in an inpatient, outpatient or residential setting. Special Requirements Licensed Psychologist I's and Licensed Psychologist II's must possess current licensure as a Psychologist issued by the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners at the time of appointment and maintain licensure as a condition of continuing employment. A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview.     Today, Nevada is the nation's seventh largest state in land area. Several hundred mountain ranges cross its landscape, many with elevations over 10,000 feet. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
