    The City of Weatherford’s Development and Neighborhood Services Department is looking to hire a Code Enforcement Officer I. This position will perform a variety of technical planning and inspection duties relating to the enforcement of all adopted building and code enforcement regulations.     Roles & Responsibilities Include:
    • Answers questions, distributes forms and provides a variety of information regarding city planning, zoning, and building codes.
    • Conducts site reviews and evaluations of proposed projects; meets with the public and contractors to provide logistical support.
    • Investigates complaints regarding code compliance issues. Composes and delivers verbal or written orders for correction of violations of the codes and ordinances.
    • Performs compliance inspections with housing, zoning, environmental health, nuisance, and abatement codes, regulations, and ordinances to ensure compliance with approved plans.
    • Performs building, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing inspections.


    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent. • Six months experience in construction, inspections, or planning. • Must possess or be able to obtain a Texas State Plumbing Inspector license within 180 days of employment. • Must possess or be able to obtain an ICC certification within 180 days of employment. • Must possess a valid Class C Texas Driver’s license.

    What we offer to our Employees:

    Retirement System – A 2:1 matching ratio through TMRS.

    Vacation – Employees will accrue 4 weeks of paid time off (Two weeks are automatically credited to the employee’s bank after successful completion of their introductory period, usually 6 months).
