We are a Pathway Designated facility by ANCC, and we are on our journey to Magnet status.Position Summary:Provides technical expertise and supervision to the radiology diagnostic services and clerical/transcription units. Duties include oversight of exam charges and billing, serving as the liaison for the department, evaluating equipment and processes, and training and evaluating clerical and technical staff.
Job RequirementEducation/Experience:Graduation from an accredited program in radiological technology and four (4) years of technical experience in radiology, two (2) years of which were in a supervisory/lead role.
Licensing/Certification Requirements:Must have one of the following certifications: American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT); Nuclear Medicine or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB); American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) Certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Additional and/or Preferred Position Requirements PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO APPLICANTS WHO DOCUMENT THE FOLLOWING : - Four (4) years of recent documented technical experience in radiology (within the last five (5) years), two (2) years of which were in a supervisory/lead role;
- Recent experience (within the last five (5) years) with developing and maintaining a Radiation Safety program;
- Recent experience (within the last five (5) years) with revenue and exam charges in radiology diagnostic services;
- A minimum of one (1) year experience with Microsoft Excel, department staff schedules and Payroll - Kronos.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical RequirementsKnowledge of:Modern principles of supervision; conflict resolution techniques; Radiographic examination procedures and protocols; federal and state regulations applicable to area of assignment; diagnostic x-ray equipment; quality assurance and quality control standards; standard procedures for exam charges and billing; computer systems related to the work (i.e. PACS, SMS, Future-Net, AS400); staff scheduling and work flow analysis; department and hospital safety practice and procedures; patient rights; age specific patient care practices; infection control policies and practices; handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures.
Skill in:Supervising and evaluating staff; developing staffing plans; developing, implementing and enforcing methods, policies and procedures; preparing and monitoring budgets; applying customer service principles; troubleshooting and maintaining radiology instruments and equipment; applying quality controls to radiology diagnostic and clerical procedures; training staff; performing statistical analysis and report writing; applying quality improvement techniques; giving effective oral presentations; using computers and related software applications; communicating with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties; efficient, effective and safe use of equipment.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Mobility to work in a typical clinical setting and use standard equipment, vision to read printed materials and a VDT screen, hearing and speech to communicate effectively in-person and over the telephone. Strength and agility to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or an eligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
