    Position: Full-Time Lecturer, Associate Director of Forensics, Speech and Debate (1 to 3-academic year(s) appointment, renewable)
    Effective Date: August 19, 2024 (Fall Semester)
    Salary Range: The Full-Time Lecturer B (Academic Year) classification salary is $71,100 to $151,128 per academic year (paid as 12 monthly payments). The anticipated hiring range is $85,000 to $90,000 per year. Salary offered is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

    Required Qualifications:
    • M.A./M.S. or Ph.D. in Communication or related field
    • Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence
    • Experience as a director, assistant director, or speech and debate coach
    • Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience administrating a full-service forensics program and hosting forensics tournaments
    • Ability to teach courses in argumentation and debate; a commitment to engaging students outside of the classroom through providing support, including mentoring, and program development
    • Teaching experience demonstrating excellence on the university level

    Duties:
    • Work with department specialists to manage budget and team travel requests
    • Compose yearly IRA request and attend hearings
    • Host Jack Howe Memorial tournament and other local and national tournaments at the high school and college level
    • Schedule and attend team meetings (2x a week)
    • Recruit on-campus and off-campus - particularly LA Urban Debate League schools
    • Coordinate team travel arrangements and attend some forensics tournaments
    • Supervise forensics Graduate Assistants
    • Foster alumni and community relations
    • Develop fundraising opportunities
    • Perform other duties necessary to administer a full-service forensics program
