The Food Services Worker - Generalist positions work in the hospital cafeteria where food is prepared and perform a variety of duties such as food preparation, serving food, cashiering, and cleaning equipment and workstations. There are two (2) permanent full-time (40 hours per week), two (2) permanent part-time (32 hours per week), and three (3) permanent intermittent (40 hours per week, various schedule) vacancies in Food and Nutrition Services!

    What you will typically be responsible for:

    • Prepare food for cooking by peeling, cutting, or slicing.
    • Set up tray lines and/or individual trays.
    • Serve meals to cafeteria customers and patients.
    • Clean items used in the kitchen such as dishes, pots, pans, containers, carts, and equipment.
    • Clean facilities including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing work areas such as floors, storage spaces, trucks and empty garbage cans.
    • Assist with stocking supplies and deliveries.
    • Report food quality or safety concerns to the Food Service Worker (Lead) or the Food and Nutrition Services Department management team.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Experience: One year of full-time, or its equivalent, experience in an institutional or commercial kitchen which included preparing and serving food, and cleaning kitchen equipment and facilities.

    Selection Process

    DISASTER SERVICE WORKER
