Full-time position available with the Water Department, Smart Sewer Division located at 4800 E. 63rd St.
Salary Range: $5,173-$7,759/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. *Telework may be approved after a 6-month probationary period.

Responsibilities
- Manages multiple projects related to improvements within KC Water's sanitary sewer and combined sewer collection system as part of the Smart Sewer Program.
- Assists in various aspects of project management processes from project initiation through project close-out of the project delivery life cycle for multiple projects related to improvements to the wastewater system and/or stormwater infrastructure.
- Interprets and applies technical specifications, city ordinances, state and federal regulations, and related standards to projects.
- Coordinates with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external to the city, and the public.
- Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, hydrological characteristics, and geologic data to plan and design projects.
- Prepares or directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for projects.
- Directs construction and maintenance activities at project sites throughout Kansas City.
- Inspects construction sites to monitor progress and ensures conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards.
- Assists in preparing bidding documents, memos, and plans for construction projects.
- Verifies conformance of the plans and specifications prepared by Design Professionals.
- Submits Project Status Reports (PSR's) on the progress of projects.
- Reviews submittals for materials used and related data.
- Responds to complaints and provides general guidance on projects.
- Performs limited design as well as drafting and computational duties in the office in preparation of final plans and specifications for projects.
- Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
Qualifications
REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, project management, construction management, engineering technology, construction engineering technology, engineering, city planning, landscape architecture, or architecture and 4 years professional experience in project management or project management related work. OR an accredited Master's degree in business administration, public administration, project management, construction management, engineering technology, construction engineering technology, engineering, city planning, landscape architecture, or architecture and 2 years professional experience in project management or project management related work. OR a certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and 4 years as a PMP working in project management or project management related work. May be required to pass a preemployment drug screen. May be required to possess a valid State -issued drivers license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies.

For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
