The JobArrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for
Per Diem Physical Therapist Assistant who under general supervision, assists a Physical Therapist in administering individually planned therapy programs for the physical rehabilitation of patients. Duties include administering selective treatments which may involve application of modalities, therapeutic exercises, and activities; assisting therapy staff with modalities; providing patient education; observing patient reactions to treatments, and reporting unusual occurrences or reactions of patients to Physical Therapists.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Pre-Employment Process: Applicants selected for this position must pass a background investigation and medical examination, including drug screening.
Shift Availability: Applicants may be required to work various shifts, which may include weekends and holidays. Positions are in the Unclassified Service and serve at the discretion of the appointing authority. Employees may participate in the County's PST Deferred Compensation Plan and do not earn any other benefits.
Travel: Travel throughout the County may be required. A valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance is required at the time of appointment.
Certification: Physical Therapy Assistant incumbents must possess and maintain a valid Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the America Heart Association. Verification of a valid certificate must be provided within 30 days of the hire/start date, or conditional job offer may be rescinded.
Minimum RequirementsApplicants mu st meet
both of the following requirements:
License: Possess and maintain a valid Physical Therapy Assistant license issued by the Physical Therapy Board of California.

Certification: Possess and maintain a valid Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association. (Verification of a valid certificate must be provided within 30 days of the hire/start date.)
Desired QualificationsThe ideal candidate will possess:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- One (1) year or more of full-time equivalent experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant in a fast-paced inpatient and/or outpatient setting
Applicants fluent in American Sign Language, Arabic, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish and/or Vietnamese are strongly encouraged to apply. Additional compensation is associated with positions requiring the use of bilingual skills. Testing of bilingual skills may be required to receive additional compensation.
