    This is a part-time position. The selected incumbent may work up to 19 hours per week. Work schedule is to be determined. Bilingual pay, if applicable, is an additional $1.01 per hour.     Essential Functions Include But Are Not Limited To

    Under general supervision, investigates reports of water waste or other water conservation related requests, prepares reports and notices regarding water waste or water conservation investigations. Assists Water Services Quality Inspectors with data entry for multiple programs, water quality sampling and monitoring, and Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) program. Assists with special events promoting the City's water quality and conservation programs, sets up/takes down displays and booths for public events, and implements thorough cleaning of all equipment. Performs other related duties as required.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Some experience in customer service, data entry, water conservation and/or water quality sampling, and possession of a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below.

    DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
    Knowledge of: Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel, Outlook); rudimentary writing skills; common tools and equipment used in basic construction, safety precautions and practices in the operation of these common tools and equipment; Orange County native plant material and their use in landscapes.
    Ability to: understand and follow specific oral and written instructions; use a desktop/laptop computer; perform strenuous manual tasks; operate a full size van or utility truck; use basic hand tools; work alone or in a team and with the public.
    Skill in: dealing with the customers/public; planting/transplanting plants; the safe use of common tools and equipment used in construction, maintenance, and repair work.

    SPECIAL MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
    Possession and retention of a valid California Class C Driver's License is a condition of employment in this classification.

    Must be willing and able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

    Willing and able to work nights, weekends, or holidays, as needed.

    Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish or Vietnamese is desirable.

    Part-Time employees accrue paid sick leave at the rate of one (1) hour of paid sick leave for every thirty (30) hours worked up to a maximum accrual of 6 days or 48 hours. Employees are eligible to use 3 days or 24 hours of accrued paid sick leave in a 12-month period.
