    The Position

    Maintenance Repair Workers perform semi-skilled work in the building and mechanical trades to repair, construct, and/or maintain buildings, facilities and equipment.

    PER EXECUTIVE ORDER 2024-06, ALL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN WAIVED FOR THIS POSITION UNTIL DECEMBER 31ST, 2024. Under general supervision, incumbents perform the range of duties described in the series concept. Routine tasks are performed independently, but complex semi-skilled work is typically performed in conjunction with a journey level trades worker or Maintenance Repair Specialists. This is the journey level in the series. The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is currently recruiting for a full-time Maintenance Repair Worker 2 in Las Vegas, Nevada. This recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur in the following program: Desert Regional Center- Intermediate Care Facility (DRC-ICF).

    Incumbents must always follow Building and Grounds Policy and Procedures and must understand and carry out procedures of the hazard Communication Program. Routine tasks include but are not limited to: maintenance of proper soil element contents; maintenance of sprinkler system in proper working order; set up mowing schedules as necessary; keep all ground tools in clean, neat and working order; assist with various tasks associated with the overall upkeep of buildings and grounds; assist with repair and maintenance of electrical systems, HVAC systems, plumbing systems, wall repairs, flooring repair/replacement, furniture repair/replacement, lock repair/replacement, and painting, as needed.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) One year of experience performing semi-skilled work in the building and/or mechanical trades; OR one year of experience as a Maintenance Repair Worker I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements Some positions require a valid Class A, B, or C driver's license at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. Some positions are subject to call-back after work hours and call-out on weekends and holidays. These positions will be identified at the time of recruitment. Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation.
