The Position The Board of Supervisors have authorized the following future salary increases: 5% on July 1, 2025 Why join Contra Costa County Health Services?The Contra Costa County Health Services Department is recruiting Certified Nursing Assistants to assist licensed nursing staff in performing routine tasks in the care and treatment of patients in multiple units within the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center in Martinez, CA.
Certified Nursing Assistants assist patients with feeding, ambulating, grooming, dressing and other activities of daily living. Additional duties include transporting patients to appointments; taking and recording vital signs; obtaining stool and urine specimens; and other required patient care activities. You will be an important part of the care our patients receive on a daily basis.

What you will typically be responsible for:- Perform physical tasks using appropriate body mechanics and a reasonable degree of physical exertion
- Assisting patients with activities of daily living
- Assists in maintaining a clean safe environment for the patient
- Monitors and assists in providing dietary requirements of patients
- Providing close observation of patients and the documentation of these observations
- Reports observations to the RN or team Leader or Charge Nurse
- Transportation of patients both within the hospital and to appointments outside the hospital

Minimum QualificationsCertificates: Possession of a valid certificate as a Certified Nursing Assistant issued by the State of California and a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or CPR certification issued by the American Red Cross.
Within six (6) months of hire must possess and maintain throughout the duration of employment a Contra Costa County Regional Medical Center approved Crisis Management and Prevention Certificate.
PLEASE NOTE : All applicants must submit a copy of their CNA certification and their current CPR or BLS certificate at the time of application. Training and Experience Evaluation: Candidates who clearly demonstrate that they possess the minimum qualifications will have their training and experience evaluated. The responses to the supplemental questions, at the time of filing, will be evaluated to determine each candidate's relevant education, training, and/or experience as it relates to this position, and will be used to rank candidates on the resulting eligible list.

CONVICTION HISTORY

DISASTER SERVICE WORKER
All Contra Costa County employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law. Employment with the County requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
