    The next Deputy City Manager will work as part of a leadership team that provides direction to the highly talented group of public servants who take care of our City. In collaboration with the City Manager, two Deputy City Managers help lead the City organization in executing the City Council’s vision for our community.     Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, oversight of City departments, projects, programs or initiatives involving a variety of complex and sensitive assessments of City operations and management, briefing elected officials, City Manager, Mayor/City Council, and the Executive Team on complex municipal and community issues; and researching and developing recommendations on Citywide matters, pending legislation and other administrative issues.

The candidate must also exhibit an appreciation for the diversity and culture of the City, reflecting a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through their leadership of the City. 

    The salary range is $154,035.96 - $207,952.42 with the starting salary depending on the individual’s qualifications. The City will furnish a vehicle for use by the Deputy City Manager in the course of their employment. Residency within the City limits is required within six months of appointment.

Each member serves a four-year term. The City Manager serves as the City Executive, supervising nine department heads that direct the administrative functions of the City.
