Under the guidance of the Associate Vice President of Business Operations, the Director of Logistical Services will oversee the administration and management of Mail Services, Shipping & Receiving, and Material Management.     Key Responsibilities:
    • Team Leadership: Supervise and manage personnel, conduct performance evaluations, and ensure high standards of work. Provide guidance and support for professional growth.

    • Collaboration: Work closely with faculty, staff, students, campus administrators, and service providers to enhance services and resolve issues. Maintain ongoing communication to understand and meet their needs.
    • Service Coordination: Oversee and coordinate services, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Assess needs, set goals, and develop strategies to achieve them.
    • Resource Management: Determine necessary resources, organize and direct activities, and motivate staff to achieve outstanding results.
    • Staff Development: Select, train, and evaluate staff. Delegate tasks effectively and provide leadership and encouragement for continuous improvement.

    Position Information
    • Full-time, at-will role, offering comprehensive benefits.
    • Position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation.
    • The individual hired into this role will work on campus at SDSU in San Diego.

    Logistical Services includes Material Management, Shipping & Receiving Services, and Mail Services, ensuring comprehensive support for the campus in these areas.

    Education and Experience

    Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.

    Experience: Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in managing or supervising a large warehouse shipping and receiving department, or a similar environment. Experience in a college or university setting is preferred.

    An equivalent combination of education, relevant experience, and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position will also be considered.

    Key Qualifications
    • Experience working in a business services/operations or logistics environment.
    • Experience working in higher education.
    • Ability to supervise and provide sound judgment and leadership to a large multi-functional staff involved in the combined warehouse operations and activities in a major university setting and a bargaining unit environment.
    • Demonstrated experience and effective supervisory and leadership skills in directing and managing a diverse workforce involved in the delivery of Logistical Services (mail distributions, shipping and receiving, material management, etc.).

    The expected hiring salary for this position ranges from $137,000 - $147,108 annually.
