About University Enterprises Corporation at CSUSB (This is not a state position) University Enterprises Corporation at CSUSB ("UEC") supports the university's educational mission by providing quality services that complement the instructional program. The University depends upon UEC to provide services that cannot be supported with state funds. We’re responsible for business enterprises on campus including, but not limited to, dining, bookstore, convenience store, and vending services. We also serve as the grantee for federal, state, and local funding for research and sponsored projects.
Position Summary Temporary, Part Time, Non-Benefited position through 6/30/2025 (Appointment may be renewed annually based upon availability of funds, availability of work and satisfactory job performance).
Salary: $28.55 per hour.
Location: UCDD and/or the Watson College of Education (WCOE) at California State University, San Bernardino. Remote work may be available based on the center’s needs and demands.
Work Schedule Up to 19 hours per week. Mondays-Thursdays: 6:00PM-9:00PM, Saturdays: 9:00AM- 12:00PM, Telehealth: varies (only if needed).
First Review Deadline This position will remain open until filled.
Typical Activities Under minimal supervision of UCDD's Director, the Counselor will work independently to:
- Provides knowledge and training parents to understand behavior modification, and the functions of behaviors.
- Provides training to parents to use appropriate strategies to target in-home behaviors, as well as a simple method to monitor the child’s progress.
- Develops lesson plans to cover a variety of related topics in parent groups.
- Lesson plans cover such areas as decreasing inappropriate behaviors, increasing independence with self-care, increasing socialization, communication, and prevocational skills, coping and stress management, understanding Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Ensures that parental training adheres to UCDD’s program design and satisfies requirements of our funding agencies.
- Writes session notes at the end of each parent session that explains the type and purpose of training that was provided.
- Evaluates parents’ progress in their ability to understand and use behavior modification techniques at home.
- Collaborates with other Counselors to share and develop instructional materials.
- Collaborates with the center’s Supervisors to gain knowledge on clients’ progress and help develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Coordinates with UCDD administration to receive guidelines and prior approval for guest speakers.
- Collects signatures to validate participation in parent groups, which are used bill the funder.
- Must adhere to HIPAA laws to appropriately handle clients’ private information.
- Participates in full staff trainings
- Conducts interviews to collect data from parents for periodic reports.
- In the unexpected absence of Supervisory staff, Counselors may act as Session Supervisors to ensure delivery of services.
- May participate in new client assessments.
Minimum Qualifications - Education:
- MA or MS in a related field (Special Education, Social Work, Psychology,
Counseling, etc.)
- Experience:
- Must have experience working with children and/or with parents of children with developmental disabilities.
- Must have experience delivering behavior services to children with developmental disabilities.
- Other:
- Must be computer literate; general knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must have strong knowledge and understanding of behavior modification techniques.
- Must work effectively in a positive environment with other professionals.
- Must have strong knowledge of behavior health such as ABA, and/or discrete trial training.
- Candidate needs to be Mandated Reporters certified and must possess a current CPR certificate.
- Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background check and fingerprint clearance.
Preferred Qualifications - Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- Spanish speaking.
