The City of Olathe offers a competitive starting pay from $21.75 to $28.90 based on experience and other qualifications.
For more details, review the full job details and requirements below.The Fitness Instructor for the Community Center leads a variety of fitness classes, including but not limited to strength training, cardio conditioning, aqua fitness, yoga, cycle, mobility, and stretch & recovery. They are responsible for ensuring a safe, effective, and enjoyable experience for all participants.
Key Responsibilities - Programs and facilitates fitness classes that cater to a diverse community, ensuring all sessions are engaging, safe and effective; f osters a motivating atmosphere, encouraging class participants of all fitness levels to achieve their personal health and wellness goals.
- Maintains a safe exercise environment by monitoring participants, providing modifications as necessary, and adhering to all health and safety protocols; e nsures fitness equipment is used correctly; reports any maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
- Stays current with fitness trends and continuing education through workshops, certifications, and training sessions.
Qualifications Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience: Must have strong interpersonal communication skills, and a positive, motivational attitude.
Licenses & Certifications: Must have nationally accredited Certification in Fitness programming or specified format of interest. Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications are required.
Environmental or Physical Demands: Ability to stay focused in a bustling environment, and to lift at least 50 lbs.
