    Why you’ll love this position:

This position is perfect for an experienced program coordinator who seeks to use their experience and skills to reduce the burden of tobacco use and exposure in Missouri. The Tobacco Prevention and Control Program works to improve health by promoting and supporting policy, system, and environmental changes that reduce tobacco use and exposure. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage others to improve individual and community health through evidence-based interventions.

    What you’ll do:

    • Provide training and technical assistance, build relationships, and collaborate with state and community partners to promote Missouri Tobacco Quit Services and to implement system changes that increase access to evidence-based cessation.
    • Coordinate program contracts under the goal of increasing access to evidence-based tobacco cessation in Missouri.
    • Respond to requests for information, education materials, webinars, and training from partners, coalitions, contractors, agencies, and others on best practices in tobacco control and prevention.
    • Engage pediatricians, OB/GYNs, school nurses, social workers, and other health care providers in strengthening their healthcare systems through integrating tobacco control initiatives to address youth initiation and cessation of emerging tobacco products, including e-cigarettes.
    • Educate behavioral health care systems about how providing tobacco cessation treatment and tobacco-free environments improves outcomes for patients.
    • Assist with preparing contracts, grant applications, progress reports, and conducting contract monitoring.
    • This position requires some statewide and national travel.

    All you need for success:

    Minimum Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and two or more years of professional experience in public health, public administration, health care, health care administration, or social services. In the absence of a degree, five plus years of relevant experience in the field will be considered.
    • Experience coordinating programs and managing projects.
    • This position requires a high level of written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate is someone who can build impactful partnerships and has excellent networking skills.
    • Experience communicating over email and using a variety of computer programs (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, video-conferencing, and online survey platforms) for coordinating activities and project reporting.
    • Familiarity with health care and/or behavioral health care settings is highly desired.
