Position Description
Manages and directs the day to day operations of a research center/institute or medium sized department. Plans, coordinates and supervises the operation and activities of the center/institute/department. Develops and implements policies and procedures, administers the budget, organizes tasks and sets priorities.
Major/Essential Functions- Oversees the nursing functions of a health facility, including direct and indirect supervision of a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week health system.
- Coordinates medical providers' schedule availability and medical services operations to ensure patients' access-to-care is timely and appropriate.
- Coordinates dental providers' schedule availability and medical services operations to ensure patients' access-to-care is timely and appropriate.
- Coordinates with mental health providers to ensure access to psychiatry services and mental health counseling services are timely and appropriate.
- Establishes and manages care coordination efforts for referrals to specialty care and hospital care. Works with network providers to create mutually beneficial care pathways enhancing patients' access to care.
- Is fully responsible for the administrative and operational activities in the health facility, including fiscal responsibility, staffing, and ensuring adherence to legal, regulatory, and university requirements.
- Works with university departments to establish and manage health quality and compliance practices to ensure high-quality patient care, and compliance to all relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required, master's preferred; Six years progressively responsible management experience. Additional education beyond Bachelor's may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
