    Minimum Qualifications
    Graduate Engineer A:
    Education and/or Equivalent Experience:

    • Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a field related to the job.


    Licenses and Certifications Required:
    • None.


    Graduate Engineer B:
    Education and/or Equivalent Experience:

    • Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a related field, plus two (2) years of experience in engineering.


    Licenses and Certifications Required:
    • Engineer-In-Training ( EIT ) Certification in the State of Texas, OR If certified in another state, must have the ability to obtain Texas EIT certification within six (6) months of employment.


    Engineer A:
    Education and/or Equivalent Experience:

    • Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a field related to the job, plus four (4) years engineering experience acquired either before and/or after licensing as a professional engineer.


    Licenses and Certifications Required:
    • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas; or if currently licensed in another state, must have the ability to obtain a Texas P.E. license within six (6) months of employment.


    Engineer B:
    Education and/or Equivalent Experience:

    • Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to engineering, plus six (6) years experience in engineering, acquired either before and/or after licensing as a professional engineer.


    Licenses and Certifications Required:
    • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas; or if currently licensed in another state, must have the ability to obtain a Texas P.E. license within six (6) months of employment.


    Engineer C:
    Education and/or Equivalent Experience:

    • Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a field related to the job, plus eight (8) years engineering experience acquired either before and/or after licensing as a professional engineer.


    Licenses and Certifications Required:
    • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas; or if currently licensed in another state, must have the ability to obtain a Texas P.E. license within six (6) months of employment..

    Position Overview

    This position is part of the Mobility Team that oversees impact of water and wastewater pipeline infrastructure by transportation and transit oriented improvements, such as Project Connect (Light Rail), Travis County and TxDOT roadway improvements.

    This position will be filled at one of the following levels depending upon candidate qualifications:
    • Graduate Engineer A: $33.49 to $42.71 per hour
    • Graduate Engineer B: $35.50 to $ 45.27per hour
    • Engineer A: $39.49 to $51.34 per hour
    • Engineer B: $42.26 to $54.94 per hour
    • Engineer C: $45.22 to $58.78 per hour

    Preferred Experience:
    • Experience in capital improvement project planning and management including working successfully with state and local governmental agencies and departments in underground utility design and construction involving major road reconstruction and relocation of water and wastewater pipelines along State Highways and County roads
    • Experience regularly interacting with different levels of personnel throughout an organization and adapting communication styles to meet the needs of internal and external customers
    • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated experience in planning, organizing, and working with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities and collaborating effectively with other departments or units within an organization to meet business objectives
    • Experience with technical writing and communicating technical information to non-technical audiences
    • Experience in project management and sponsorship, overseeing projects related to design, construction and rehabilitation of water and wastewater lines
    • Ability to travel to more than one work location

    City Government
