    The Position

    Are you excited about library services, developing teams, and helping people? The Napa County Library is seeking a dynamic Information Services Supervisor (Librarian III). In this role, you will drive program planning and coordination, ensuring seamless collaboration and consistency across various library units. You will play a key role in building and maintaining strong partnerships with community organizations, aiming to introduce fresh services and engage new audiences. Your responsibilities will range from hiring and staff development to coordinating outreach efforts and promoting a positive library experience.

    What You'll Do in This Role
    • Program planning coordination. Oversee and support the efforts of the adult programming team to increase collaboration and consistency across various library units and locations.
    • Partnerships . Responsible for building and nurturing partnerships with community organizations to bring new services, programs, and audiences to the library.
    • Team cultivation. Commit to creating a positive and supportive work environment by establishing a culture of teamwork and open, honest communication.
    • Welcoming environment. Work with library and security staff to maintain a library for all that values access and safety.
    • Library awareness. Showcase the value and offerings of the library to current and future library users through outreach and other innovative means.

    This recruitment is being conducted to fill 1 (one) full-time vacancy. The list established by this recruitment may also be used to fill future full-time, part-time, limited term, and extra help vacancies for up to one year.

    Scheduled salary increases and Winter Time Off (WTO):

    • 3.5% COLA increase effective 7/01/25
    • 3.5% COLA increase effective 7/01/26
    • 32.0 hours of paid Winter Time Off (WTO)

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    Experience and Education: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:

    Experience: Two years of responsible experience in professional library work, including at least six months experience in the specialized area to which assigned.

    Education: Possession of a graduate degree in library science issued by a college or university accredited by the American Library Association.

    Special Qualifications: Persons employed in this class must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

    Supplemental questions will be scored by subject matter experts. The most qualified applicants from the scoring of the supplemental questions will be invited for an Oral Panel Interview. Oral Panel Interview Tentatively scheduled for the week of October 21, 2024.
    The most qualified candidates from the interview process will be placed on the eligibility list and may be considered for current and future vacancies for this position for up to one year.
