    Job Description

    Arthritis Program Specialist -Temporary

    Location: 123 Robert S. Kerr Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73102

    Salary: Up to $30.00/hour based on education and experience.

    Full Time /Part Time: Part Time

    Work Schedule: Monday-Friday

    Primary Hours: Up to 19 hours/week between 8am - 5pm

    Position Description: The purpose of this position is to provide coordination and implementation of the State Public Health Approaches to Addressing Arthritis grant. The general functions/major responsibilities of this position entail overseeing coordination of internal and external partners to meet the outcomes of the State Public Health Approaches to Addressing Arthritis grant.

    Duties:
    • Coordinate the planning, implementation and evaluation of the State Public Health Approaches to Addressing Arthritis grant in collaboration with internal and external partners ensuring the application of evidence- based, best or promising practices in managing arthritis.
    • Exhibit experience with community-based programming at the local and state levels, state-wide collaboration efforts, dissemination of evidence-based programs, and systems approaches for program delivery.
    • Conduct programmatic and strategic planning with interested entities and partners in regard to implementation of Arthritis Appropriate Evidence Based Interventions.
    • A proven ability to work independently and communicate effectively using written, verbal, and electronic methods.
    • Maintains accurate records and files related to work performed and prepares and updates documentation regrading assigned projects


    Other Duties
    • Demonstrates knowledge of and supports mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
    • Works effectively in team environment, participating and assisting their peers.


    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Education, Community Health, Social Sciences or other related field, and 2-3 years of experience in a community or public health position with duties related to disparate populations, population-based strategies, tobacco control, chronic disease prevention, and/or wellness and 1-2 years supervisory experience.


    • Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Education, Community Health, Social Sciences or other related field and/or a combination of demonstrated experience and education. Previous professional experience (minimum of 2 years) working at a community-based agency and/or with community programs and 3-4 years supervisory experience.

    Physical Demands and Work Environment: This position is set in an office environment, computer based. While performing the duties of the job, employees are frequently required to stand, walk, lift, and reach. Travel may be required.

    Telework: This position is may not eligible for and is subject to OSDH policy and supervisor’s discretion.
