    The Nevada Gaming Control Board (Board) is seeking a diverse pool of qualified candidates for the position of
    Senior Application Developer in the Information Technology Section of the Technology Division. This is an
    unclassified, full-time position located in either Carson City or Las Vegas, Nevada. Although this is a senior level
    position, candidates who are recent college graduates in computer science or have experience in application
    development utilizing Microsoft technologies are encouraged to apply.

    The Board governs Nevada's gaming industry through strict regulation of all person, locations, practices,
    associations, and related Activities. The Board protects the integrity and stability of the industry through its
    investigative and licensing practices, the enforcement of laws and regulations, and holding gaming licensees to high
    standards. Through these practices, the Board is able to ensure the proper collection of taxes and fees that are an
    essential source of revenue for the State of Nevada.

    Position Description
    A Senior Application Developer is under the supervision of the Programming Supervisor or Programming Manager
    and is involved in all aspects designing, developing, and supporting the Nevada Gaming Control Board's existing
    systems as well as new application development. This includes analyzing business process and requirements
    gathering, designing and developing creative solutions, and providing ongoing support and maintenance.

    Travel
    In-state travel may be required outside of normal business hours.

    Recruitment
    This is an open, competitive recruitment for all internal or external qualified applicants.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in computer science, computer
    engineering, information systems, software engineering, or related field; 2 years' experience as a software
    developer using technologies such as Visual Studio, .Net, C#, Python, or SQL; or an equivalent combination of
    education and experience.

    Position Location: Carson City or Las Vegas

    Salary Up to $117,157. The salary reflects Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) contributions by both the
    employee and the employer. An employer-paid contribution plan is also available with a reduced salary.

    Benefits Paid medical, dental, vision care, life and disability insurance programs; twelve paid holidays per year;
    three weeks of annual leave; three weeks of sick leave; state defined benefit retirement plan; tax-sheltered deferred
    compensation plan available. State employees do not contribute to Social Security; however, a small Medicare

    The presence of Nevada's earliest inhabitants, beginning about 12,400 years ago, is marked by many petroglyphs and archaeological sites. Baskets, decoys, and ingenious traps are evidence of the resourcefulness of these early people in a harsh and arid environment.

On October 31, 1864, President Lincoln proclaimed Nevada's admission to the Union as the 36th state. The State's first elected Governor, Henry Blasdel, took office on December 5, 1864.

    Today, Nevada is the nation's seventh largest state in land area. Several hundred mountain ranges cross its landscape, many with elevations over 10,000 feet. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
