Why you’ll love this position: The MO HealthNet Division is seeking applications for a Data Governance Manager position within the Data Management Office (DMO) located in Cole County. This is a responsible and independent position in a fast-paced environment where no two days will look the same. This is a responsible supervisory position within the DMO that is focused on ensuring the effective usage of data and responsible for managing the accuracy, usability, integrity and distribution of program data. This position will be a key resource and organizer for an executive-level Data Governance Council and oversee and support the activities of data stewards.
- Organize and resource meetings of an executive-level Data Governance Council and participate in the management of a data governance model.
- Create, implement, and enforce policies, processes, and procedures for effective data management and analysis.
- Operational oversight of data verification processes utilized within the enterprise data warehouse.
- Develop and maintain data quality collection, data management performance metrics and status reporting, both at the executive level and organizationally, to ensure adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy of data.
- Operational oversight and support of the activities of data stewards.
- Develop and provide operational oversight of processes for internal and external data sharing.
- Provide operational oversight for data privacy policies and processes including the management of Protected Health Information.
- Participate in the requirement gathering, design, testing, new implementations, and ongoing management of the new Business Intelligence Solutions and Enterprise Data Warehouse (BIS-EDW).
- Provide direct supervision to staff in the Data Governance program.
Minimum Qualifications:A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 24 earned credit hours in one or a combination of the following: Business or Public Administration, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Management, Data Analysis/Business Intelligence, or a closely related field; and four or more years of professional experience in data management, analytics, and/or reporting. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
Preferred Qualifications: - Understanding of data administration and management functions (collection, analysis, distribution, etc.) and the importance of data quality and integrity is essential.
- Ability to think independently and use creative problem-solving strategies is essential.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing to effectively relay business requirements and progress to stakeholders is essential.
- Ability to self-organize and prioritize work in an ever-changing environment is essential.
- Data analytics experience, preferably using Cognos reporting tool, is preferred.
- Knowledge of data governance and data management principles and best practices is preferred.
- DAMA Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or similar certification desired, but not required.
