Why you’ll love this position: The MO HealthNet Division is seeking applications for a Data Analytics Manager position within the Data Management Office (DMO) located in Cole County. This is a responsible and independent position in a fast-paced environment where no two days will look the same. This is a supervisory position within the DMO that oversees a team of state and contractual data analysts. This position is focused on data compilation, data validation, analysis, and quality assurance of reports. The reports produced by this team drive programmatic evaluation and design.
- Review and evaluate a variety of data; prepare periodic forecasts, analyses, and dashboards in consultation with other DMO staff.
- Initiate or respond to requests for statistical and research data, administrative information, report summaries, and other similar information.
- Perform quality reviews and trouble-shoot data anomalies and questionable findings on reports written by assigned staff.
- Perform specialized and complex analysis on healthcare data.
- Analyze sociological, economic, demographic, health and vital statistics, and/or other types of data; assist in selecting methods and techniques to be used in the presentation and interpretation of data.
- Prepare analyses and descriptive texts indicating trends and statistical evaluations of their significance; prepare data, charts, and narrative for publications.
- Provide technical guidance and supervision to assigned staff in the collection, analysis, and presentation of statistical material.
- Participate in the requirement gathering, design, testing, new implementations, and ongoing management of the new Business Intelligence Solutions and Enterprise Data Warehouse (BIS-EDW).
- Provide direct supervision to staff in the Data Analytics program, both state-employed and contractual staff.
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree and 4-6 years of relevant experience and/or appropriate certification. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
Preferred Qualifications: - Ability to think independently and use creative problem-solving strategies is essential.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing to effectively relay business requirements and progress to stakeholders is essential.
- Ability to self-organize and prioritize work in an ever-changing environment is essential.
- Experience analyzing large data sets is essential (healthcare claims datasets preferred)
- Skill with data analysis tools is essential (Cognos & SQL preferred)
- Experience with moderate to complex statistical analysis is preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of procedures and techniques of collecting, organizing, and evaluating simple statistical, healthcare, and financial data is desirable.
