Offers above the posted amount may occur depending on similarity of internal work or transferability of knowledge, skills, and abilities of internal applicants.

    This position may be filled at one of the three levels based on knowledge, skills, and abilities. The entry salary is posted above, with the intermediate starting salary of $41,685.12 and senior starting salary of $48,621.60.

    Job Location: Central Office,601 West Main, Jefferson City, MO

    The planning technician provides basic technical or paraprofessional support of engineering projects and programs involving the collection, classification, and summarization of transportation planning data. Responsibilities are performed under moderate supervision.

    What you’ll do:

    • Compiles and tabulates data used in assigned sections; calculates percentages and ratios using raw data.
    • Maintains files and records for analysis and presentation; maintains databases.
    • Assists in the preparation of charts, graphs, and maps using current technology. Tracks and compiles project information related to expenditures and scopes. Assists with setting up and carrying out trainings.
    • Serves as a Microsoft SharePoint administrator and an expert in submitting and processing electronic agreements with outside vendors and agencies.
    • Provide detailed reviews of documents and submittals. Provides miscellaneous help with purchasing, reservations, etc.

    • High School Diploma or GED/HiSET.


    Special Working Conditions:

    • After an initial six-month probationary period, a hybrid telework option may be considered. Full-time telework is not available.
    • Job requires occasional, statewide travel.
