    Wastewater Plant Maintenance Worker - CDL

    Salary

    HS Diploma or GED ($18.75 per hour)

    Class A Commercial Driver's License +Tanker Endorsement ($23.10 per hour)

    Class A Commercial Driver's License +Tanker Endorsement + C ollections Class I License ($23.63 per hour)

    Qualifications

    • H.S. Diploma or GED (Required)
    • Texas Driver's License


    Licenses and Certifications
    • Class A Commercial Driver's License +Tanker Endorsement (Required within 180 Days of Employment)
    • Collections Class I License From TCEQ (Required within 1 Year of Employment)

    Essential Functions
    • Maintains and repairs mechanical equipment and components and performs preventive maintenance as directed; maintains and adjusts equipment to meet job specifications and technical codes; checks equipment to verify proper operating conditions and identify maintenance needs; maintains records of services performed.
    • Operates various wastewater treatment equipment and machinery including, but not limited to, heavy equipment, forklifts, jetting equipment, lawnmowers, screens, dewatering equipment, lab equipment, hand and power tools, filters, mop, buffer, spray painter, grease gun, and various office equipment.
    • Follows safety precautions in all work performed; reports problems and emergencies; performs duties within the scope of authority and training; duties may vary depending on job assignment and individual skills.
    • Drive and operate vehicles to transport equipment to and from job sites which requires a commercial driver’s license.
    • Works in trenches or in a confined space to perform maintenance tasks.

    Salary

    Qualifications
    • H.S. Diploma or GED (Required)
    • 2 Years of mechanical and electrical repair, maintenance, and installation experience.

    Licenses and Certifications
    • Class A Commercial Driver’s License + Tanker Endorsement (Required upon hire)
    • Collections Class II Wastewater License From TCEQ (Required upon hire)

    • 3 Years of mechanical and electrical repair, maintenance, and installation experience.

    • Class A Commercial Driver’s License + Tanker Endorsement (Required upon hire)
    • Collections Class III Wastewater License From TCEQ (Required upon hire)

    • 4 Years of mechanical and electrical repair, maintenance, and installation experience.

    Licenses and Certifications
    • Class A Commercial Driver’s License + Tanker Endorsement (Required upon hire)
    • Collections Class III Wastewater & BPAT License From TCEQ (Required upon hire)
    • BPAT License (Required upon hire)

    Essential Functions

    **The City will allow time while on duty to study, practice, and take the required testing to obtain licenses, along with covering the costs for the required testing.**

    Governance and Organization

    Waco is a home rule city with a council-manager form of government.
