    Pay Range: $68,905 - $89,576 annually

    $33.13- $43.07 hourly

    Workdays & Hours: Mon.-Fri 8a-5p. Will need to help at occasional evening or weekend neighborhood or public meetings/open houses.

    The City of Fort Worth Transportation and Public Works Department, Stormwater Management Program is seeking a Stormwater Senior Planner. This position is responsible for assisting with activities such as planning, research and analysis, policy development, operations assistance, and engagement activities of the Stormwater Management Program. The Stormwater Senior Planner will play a critical role in advancing the City's stormwater management initiatives, ensuring sustainable and effective practices that align with both community needs and environmental regulations. The successful candidate will be a proactive problem solver, able to navigate complex issues and collaborate across various departments and organizations. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence and contribute to the city's long-term resilience and quality of life.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Planning, Urban Planning or Design, Public Administration, Urban Geography, or a related field
    • Five years’ experience in planning, urban design, workforce development or related field.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Preference will be given for additional education, knowledge, experience and/or certification as it relates to the position including:
    • Professional certifications in AICP, CFM, or PMP
    • Geographic Information System (GIS)
    • Microsoft Office experience
    • Municipal Government experience
    • Strategic and Business planning experience
    • Water resources/drainage planning experience
    • Policy creation
    • Stakeholder engagement
    • Strong organizational and record management skills
    • Knowledge of grant processes and application
    • Making significant presentations to groups of people
    • Strong interpersonal attributes such as leadership, self-management/accountability, and oral/written communication skills

    The Sr. Planner job responsibilities include:
    • Research, compile, and analyze stormwater data to identify needs, evaluate and track findings and performance indicators, determine priorities, develop comprehensive policies, procedures, and implementation strategies, and make and document recommendations and conclusions
    • Use GIS to evaluate data and create maps to assist with research, analysis, and decision making, providing visual tools to support strategic planning
    • Communicate and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and the public by preparing and providing presentations and handouts, and through meetings, phone calls, and email. Build strong relationships with stakeholders to identify and evaluate potential partnership opportunities and track and respond to feedback ensuring successful collaboration at across all levels.
    • Prepare input and coordinate annexation review process working closely with city planning and zoning to effectively integrate stormwater considerations into the annexation process
    • Manage the Program’s Request for Qualifications process
    • Perform consultant contract administration, including the review and selection of consultant proposals, scoping, scheduling, and financial/budget control, while managing and reviewing work and evaluating findings and recommendations.
    • Manage special stormwater related projects and initiatives, such as process improvement efforts to improve program efficiency, overseeing various tasks and ensuring goals are met in a timely manner
    • Proficient use of Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, Outlook to manage documents, analyze data and create impactful presentations efficiently and effectively.

    Medical Program

    The City offers two plan options through Meritain Health, an Aetna company.

    The Health Center Plan – Offers employees and their family’s

Employees can visit any one of the three City of Fort Worth Employee Health Centers and receive guaranteed same or next day appointments for sick visits. Also, services are available at any one of the five satellite locations that serves employees across the city.

    The Consumer Choice Plan – Is offered to employees at no cost or low monthly premiums to cover eligible dependents and provides the financial benefits of a Health Savings Account (HSA).

    • Preventative services are covered at 100% on both plans.
    • Prescription Drug coverage including mail order pharmacy are also included.

    Vacation

    Eligible for 3 weeks of vacation: After successful completion of probationary period (usually
    6 months), employees may take time off for rest, relaxation, vacation, illness, religious observances, and personal business.

    Holidays

    Available on the first day of employment, the city provides employees with paid holidays, including two personal holidays.

    Wellness Program

    The city’s Healthy Challenge Wellness Program rewards all full-time, benefit-eligible employees on the city’s health insurance. The Healthy Challenge Program utilizes a points system. Participants may earn points throughout the year (Jan. 1-Dec. 15) for completing specific program activities and participants can redeem points at the end of the year for a cash reward. By participating, individuals can earn $150, $200 or $250 by accumulating program points.
