    Salary Level: Based on preparation level and experience per TEA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Range is $71,755 (BA+0 step 1) through $140,729 (MA+90 step 20)

    Union/Days per year: Teacher, 182 workdays, 10-month

    SUMMARY
    The MTSS Facilitator provides professional learning opportunities, resources, and support to district staff to improve instructional quality, equity, and effectiveness aligned to the district’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework. This framework integrates academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions focusing on equitable student access and outcomes. The facilitator ensures that practices are culturally responsive, data-driven, and tailored to meet the diverse needs of students, including multilingual learners (ML), students in special education, and historically underserved populations. This position emphasizes digital tools and technology to enhance instruction, communication, and intervention strategies across schools and departments. The facilitator ensures alignment with state and district standards, policies, and initiatives that promote student achievement and equitable practices.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
    Collaboration and Leadership Serves as a key member of an instructional support team focused on increasing student achievement and equity, ensuring alignment with the district’s MTSS framework, Washington State Learning Standards, and equity-driven goals.Collaborates with district leaders, instructional coaches, and teachers to implement MTSS strategies that address the unique needs of students from various cultural, linguistic, and ability backgrounds.Engages with external stakeholders such as the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) and institutions of higher learning to ensure compliance with equity-focused funding requirements and policies. Professional Development (PD) Plans, schedules, and facilitates professional development (PD) at the district and school levels, providing training on the MTSS framework, Response to Intervention (RTI), and culturally responsive teaching practices.Designs professional learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and instructional technology to meet the needs of diverse learners, including ML and special education students.Utilizes adult learning practices to guide certificated staff in developing, adapting, and refining curriculum, instructional resources, and assessments that foster equity and inclusion, ensuring they align with Washington State Learning Standards and district goals. Data-Driven Decision Making Collects, analyzes, and uses disaggregated data from district assessments, progress monitoring, digital platforms, and intervention systems to monitor the effectiveness of MTSS strategies. This data is used to inform instructional adjustments and identify inequities in student outcomes.Assists school and district staff in setting equity-centered, data-informed goals to enhance instructional practices and improve student outcomes, focusing on continuous improvement and addressing opportunity gaps. Instructional Support Provides coaching and guidance to teachers on effective, equitable instructional delivery, using assessment results and intervention tools to guide differentiated instruction for all levels of the MTSS framework.Models integrating instructional technology and digital resources into classrooms, ensuring these tools enhance learning experiences and support the district’s equity goals.Assists multiple department administrators in solving problems and directing programs that align MTSS practices with district materials and resources, equity policies and practices, and technological advancements. System Alignment and Integration Works across departments to ensure that MTSS practices are vertically and horizontally aligned, focusing on consistency and equity in interventions, instructional support, and access to materials and resources across grade levels.Assists in developing and refining system designs that integrate academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions, using technology to track progress and ensure equitable support for all students. OTHER JOB DUTIES
    Stays current on trends and research related to MTSS, equity-focused practices, digital tools, and instructional practices; attends district, state, and national conferences, as necessary.Performs related duties as assigned.Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance or physical presence is an essential job requirement
    CONDITIONS
    Required to work flexible hours and maintain a flexible calendar to accommodate district needs; may be required to transport instructional materials and equipment, visit school sites, and occasionally travel outside the city; must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds, bend, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, twist, climb, and/or be mobile.

    Minimum Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    Education and Experience
    Bachelor’s degree in education and eight years demonstrated and distinguished teaching experience, preferably in multiple grade levels; experience in instructional coaching role or leading adult professional development preferred; implementing MTSS or RTI practice highly desirable or experience in a leadership ideal; master’s degree or certification in educational administration or experience as a teacher leader desired; as there are multiple digital platforms, MIE Certificate or equivalent training desired.
    Licenses/Special Requirements
    Valid Washington State teaching certificate.
    Valid Washington State driver's license and access to personal transportation.
    Fingerprints and successful WSP and FBI background clearance/sexual misconduct clearance.
