We are recruiting to fill a Programmer Supervisor II position to perform programming assignments at the strategic operating level and supervises the programming staff.
- Responsible for supervision of the design, development and coding of programs to automate manual processes.
- Manages, controls, coordinates and prioritizes all systems activities to ensure task completion
- Determines and defines work assignments, delegates work related to the efficient operation of all OSCA computer systems analysis and design or other information technology specialties.
- Confers with management relative to strategic planning, long term priorities and agency goals; implements data-gathering and programming techniques; directs feasibility studies; recommends computer information technology solutions; and manages project implementation
- Ensures development efforts are meeting the customer’s needs and solving reported business problems
Minimum qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree with at least 15 semester hours in computer science, computer information systems, or closely related areas and 5 years of experience, including 2 years above the journey-level, of professional and technical computer information systems experience, which must include 1 year of supervisory or team lead experience;
Additional experience above the minimum stated may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education.
Preferred qualifications - Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of computer information technology
- Considerable knowledge of supervisor techniques and administrative practices
- Extensive knowledge of continuing trends and developments in computer hardware and software
- Extensive knowledge of data query and manipulation techniques, various computer applications, and principles and practices of computer information technology
- Ability to develop short and long-range plans that meet established objectives and contribute to the overall goals and mission of the agency
