Position Summary
This position provides strategic analysis, consultation, training and guidance to the Dean's staff and the College staff. Provides administrative assistance to the Dean of the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS). Maintains an effective working relationship with the College Analyst and assists the Dean with a variety of programs and committees. The incumbent must possess a thorough
and in-depth knowledge and understanding of the organizational structure and functions of the College and the University to provide assistance to those who inquire about policies and/or procedures. The incumbent works with significant independence and minimal supervision while performing many complex and confidential administrative duties requiring a very high level of initiative, judgment and discretion. Duties are related to the support of various Centers, programs, projects and operations which require contact with the general public, students, faculty, staff, campus officials, system officials, government agencies and community business leaders. This
position acts as the liaison between the Dean, University President's staff, Provost and Academic Affairs staff and all other University Administrators, Associate Deans, faculty, staff, students, alumni, prospective donors and a variety of community members.This position oversees and is responsible for the overall office operation which includes administering hiring, leadwork, orientation, training, and provides valuable input towards the evaluations of two AA/S NE positions, two ASC I positions, and student assistant(s). The incumbent
is responsible for coordination of staff work schedule to guarantee front office coverage. Trains new staff in policy and procedures for the CHHS. Additionally, the incumbent consults with the college budget analyst concerning dean's office OE and all expenditure allocations.
This incumbent serves as Commencement Coordinator for the College and works directly with HHS staff and Campus Commencement office to ensure smooth, efficient and professional ceremonies at campus designated venue.
FLSA: Exempt (Not eligible for overtime compensation)
Anticipated Hiring Range: $4598 per month - $5525 per month

Minimum Qualifications
This classification requires general knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.
Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in closely related field OR a combination of education and experience which
provides the required knowledge and abilities.
2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
3. Knowledge of academic and non-academic organizational structures and systems, and ability to
understand, communicate and train the application of campus policies and procedures as they pertain
to budget, and administrative processes within these structures and systems.
4. Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office, Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Publisher.
5. Knowledge and proficiency of University systems required (CMS Finances, HR and SA; IF AS;
Cognos; PeopleAdmin; Tableau Data; Financial Data Warehouse; ASTRA and Staples Stockless Office
Supplies).
6. Demonstrates initiative and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
7. Must be flexible and be able to adjust to change.
8. Ability to work as a member of a team and demonstrate leadership ability.
9. Ability to train others on new skills and procedures and provide lead work direction.
10. Ability to multitask with effective results.
11. Ability to establish and maintain interpersonal relationships.
