    The Fremont Police Department is recruiting for the position of Police Communications Dispatcher.

    HIRING BONUS for Police Communications Dispatcher:

    Hiring bonus for new Police Communications Dispatchers in a total amount of $5,000. The new hire will receive the first payment of $2,500 upon acceptance of final offer letter and $2,500 upon completion of the probationary period (To be eligible for the hiring bonus, applicants must apply on or after October 13, 2022).

    Recruitment Process

    • Applicants must attach a valid typing certificate. A valid typing certificate must include all of the following requirements:
      • Ability to type no less than 45 net words per minute
      • Must be dated within the last 12 months
      • All tests must be administered by a professional; the proctor/agency contact information must be listed on your certificate
      • If you choose to do an online typing test, your certificate must indicate that your ID was verified, and a proctor must have virtually monitored the exam. In addition, all of the above requirements must be met.
    Applicants must attach a passing POST Entry-Level Dispatcher Selection Test Battery (POST Dispatcher Exam) with a minimum T-Score of 51 dated within the last 12 months. OR, applicants must attach passing CritiCall exam scores dated within the last 12 months . A typing certificate is not required for candidates who submit passing CritiCall exam scores.     The Organization

    The City of Fremont is a full-service general law city operating under a Council-Manager form of government that combines the civic leadership of elected officials with the managerial experience of an appointed City Manager. Policy-making and legislative authority are vested in a seven-member city council. Six Councilmembers are elected on a by-district basis, with the Mayor separately elected to a four-year term by a citywide vote.

     

    The City Council appoints the City Manager and City Attorney. The City Manager is responsible for implementing City Council policy and administering the day-to-day operations and affairs of the City in a businesslike and prudent manner. The City Attorney serves as chief legal advisor to the City, providing transactional and litigation services to the City, as represented by the City Council, City advisory bodies, and City departments.

     

    The City of Fremont is an organization of approximately 995 full-time dedicated employees and supported by a FY 2022-23 General Fund budget of $249.3 million.
