Job Location: This position will be located at 1706 E. Elm Street, Jefferson City, MO 65102
The Department of Mental Health, Division of Behavioral Health is seeking to hire a new Housing Initiatives Specialist. This position will be domiciled at Central Office. Remote work may be a possibility after the success completion of an initial training period.
Primary Responsibilities: - Provide training and technical assistance to providers across the state
- Engage Housing Liaisons in their local Continuum of Care and case conferencing efforts
- Monitor grant performance
- Plan, manage, and utilize federal and state grant funding
- Review monthly invoices
- Conduct street outreach activities with Housing liaisons
- Working directly with Missourians who experience Severe Mental Illness and Substance Use Disorders in obtaining services and benefits that help them to meet their needs
Minimum Qualifications: - Knowledgeable of community behavioral health programs/services
- Grant management and review processes
- Complex case problem-solving
- Facilitation of virtual and in-person trainings
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Grammar, spelling, punctuation and technical writing skills
- Data analysis and collection
Required Qualifications: - 1-3 years of professional experience in grant management/compliance, case management, training or technical assistance
- Experience in Behavioral Health case management, homelessness case management or other closely related areas
- Bachelor's degree with specialization in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Public Administration or other closely related areas preferred
