    ABOUT THE JOB:
    This is an opportunity for someone who wants to learn more about local government. You will gain valuable experience with running audio and video equipment and helping residents connect with their county government.

    This position will work with the County’s Public Information Officer to support the successful livestreaming of public meetings and hearings. They will operate audio and video equipment to livestream and run Zoom during Board of County Commissioners, Planning Commission and other County meetings and hearings, and perform necessary post-meeting tasks to add the recordings to our website.

    Meeting Times / Availability:
    Board of County Commission meetings are typically held on most:
    • Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    Departmental meetings and hearings typically occur on:
    • 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. (meeting end times can fluctuate)
    • Occasional ad-hoc evening meetings
    Applicants do not need to have availability for all meeting times / days of the week to apply. Training and all necessary equipment will be provided.

    Compensation

    $22.9389 to $30.7405 per hour. There are no County benefits with this position. This position is available immediately.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent; AND two (2) years of administrative support experience;
    • OR any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills and knowledge to perform the essential functions of the job.


    Necessary Special Requirements

    Driving is a requirement for this position. Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Oregon driver’s license within 30 days of hire date. The employment offer will be contingent upon presentation of an acceptable and verifiable driver’s license, pre-employment screening for criminal history, driving history, and controlled substance (NOTE: Positive test results for marijuana use may result in rescission of a contingent offer of employment). This screening must be completed with satisfactory findings in order for a formal offer of employment to be extended.

    Must have dependable transformation and be able and willing to drive throughout Deschutes County in sometimes adverse weather conditions.
