    Charleston County Environmental Management is looking for an individual to manage the daily and long term business as well as the financial needs and requirements of the Department. This position will report directly to Director of Environmental Management but extensive leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative.

    HIRING SALARY RANGE: $85,508 - $111,987 (Estimated Annual Salary)

    Duties and Responsibilities

    *The successful Business Manager will establish a working relationship with the Department Director and staff that work in a supportive role. Responsibilities to include:

    *Manage the general fund and special revenue fund operating budgets and accounts payable and receivable, general ledgers, procurement card program and the grant partipcation programs.

    *Maintains and manages project level personal time reporting database, personnel records, a training/certification database, and all project records for historical purposes.

    *Develops Budgets

    *Manages and oversees for accountability and conformity of Federal, State, and local government fiscal regulations.

    *Maintains project cost allocation records and documentation and determines annual trial balances; resolves accounts not in balance.

    *Prepares departmental finance reports.

    *Reviews, adjusts, improves and implements procedures to document departmental accounting, project controls and historical documentation of project records.

    Minimum Qualifications

    *Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration or related fields and

    *8 years or more of progressively responsible experience in accounting, business operations, or project management
