    5% on July 1, 2024

    The Contra Costa Health Department is recruiting individuals to fill one (1) Cytotechnologist position located in the Clinical Laboratory Unit at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) located in Martinez, CA.

    The Cytotechnologist will examine smears of tissue for abnormalities of cell matter, will screen to identify atypical cells, will assist physicians in the preparation of slides for specialized procedures, will document the slide interpretation results of each gynecological and non-gynecological cytology case, and will contact other cytological labs to study abnormal smears.

    • Receiving and accounting for specimen material and slides from wards and clinics.
    • Processing specimens and entering detailed information in laboratory records.
    • Staining and labeling slides for microscopic examinations.
    • Examining smears of tissue for abnormalities of cell matter.

    Minimum Qualifications

    License Required: A valid license as a Cytotechnologist issued by the State of California Department of Health.

    Experience: Two (2) years of full-time experience, or its equivalent, in a clinical laboratory performing cytological tests and analyses.

    Selection Process

    1. Application Filing and Evaluation: All applicants will be required to complete a supplemental questionnaire at the time of application, applications will be evaluated to determine which candidates will move forward in the next phase of the recruitment process.

    2. Training and Experience Evaluation: Candidates who clearly demonstrate that they possess the minimum qualifications will have their training and experience evaluated. The responses to the supplemental questions, at the time of filing, will be evaluated to determine each candidate's relevant education, training, and/or experience as presented on the application and supplemental questionnaire. (Weighted 100%)

    CONVICTION HISTORY

    DISASTER SERVICE WORKER
