    Office of the President - Enrollment Management

    Student Services Professional II

    *** Temporary Position - 1 year appointment with anticipated extension for up to 2 years. ***

    RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

    Recruitment Plan Development

    Assists with creating and implementing out-of-state and international student recruitment and outreach plans that lead to increased applications and enrollments to the University. Analyzes and presents data on international students' enrollment trends (i.e., open doors). Diversifies global regions/markets and programs of interest in recruitment plans. Collaborates closely with academic departments as a part of the recruitment pipeline. Monitors recruitment travel and expenditures to create reports that evaluate recruitment effectiveness. Calculates ROI from targeted outreach events; provides creative and cost-effective ideas to increase innovation in recruitment strategies. Assists with developing, designing, and updating marketing/promotional materials via print and online. Generates reports on leads, inquiries, applications, enrollments, and immigration on international students utilizing the CRM, SEVIS, and PeopleSoft. Generates and follows-up on student leads to meet or exceed individual/team recruitment goals.

    International Student Recruitment

    Actively recruits prospective out-of-state and international undergraduate students. Regularly communicates with potential students and student leads, providing them with comprehensive information about CSUCI, including admission requirements, application processes, immigration guidelines, academic programs, student life, and other relevant details. Represents the University at various higher education recruitment events and meetings domestically and internationally, in-person and virtually. Conducts presentations to prospective students, University partners, and agents. Collaborates with campus partners to identify programs of interest for out-of-state and international students, develop relationships with faculty and staff, and coordinate with Admissions Counselors in Enrollment Management to ensure a seamless transition for international prospects.

    Recruitment Partner Relationship Building

    Maintains and expands student recruitment agent and partner relationships/networks. Communicates timely and accurately with agents and partners (via email, telephone, social media, webinars, and onsite visits) about CSUCI programs, timelines, and admissions requirements. Conducts annual agent training for all existing agents and new agent onboarding training. Conducts onsite agent training when in the country for individual counseling offices and meets with prospective students at these offices. Collaborates with EducationUSA, IDP, Apply Board (and other) counselors virtually and in-person to provide presentations to students, onsite visits to centers, and campus updates/training to counselors.

    Institution Relationship Building

    Maintains and updates a list of community colleges, high schools, and their advisors. Provides University and admission updates to counselors via digital and onsite communication. Organizes and attends high school and community college activities to recruit out-of-state and international students. Maintains and updates a list of international high schools and their advisor's visa IACAC (International ACAC) membership. Reviews applications and conduct admissions of out-of-state and international students. Serves as a Designated School Official (DSO) for issuing initial l-20s, transferring l-20s, tracking visa approval rates, etc. Contributes to the collegial, effective, and efficient work environment as a team member. Supports and participates in initiatives, projects, and events supporting out-of-state and international student enrollment and retention such as orientation programs, student workshops/trainings, and other out-of-state and international programming as requested. Maintains effective working relationships with a wide range of students, faculty, staff, and the general public.

    Performs additional related duties as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral science field, public administration, business administration, or closely related field required; master’s degree preferred.

    Experience: At least two years of related, post-graduate, professional experience required. A master’s degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.

    Other Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of general university policies and practices related to undergraduate education and undergraduate degree programs highly desirable. Working knowledge of the basic principles of student development theory and individual and group behavior and techniques and methods of interviewing and educational programming. Demonstrated knowledge of college advising, communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. Must have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to gather and analyze data, reason logically, draw valid conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations; participate in and contribute to group meetings, conferences, and interviews, make oral presentations; clearly express ideas; write clear and concise reports; utilize word processing and data programs, work effectively under pressure, compete assignments in a timely manner, establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and faculty; and work in a multi cultural environment. Ability to meet the needs of a multicultural, multisexed, and multi-aged student body group. Experience in working with computerized student information systems, databases, and other computer software desirable. Ability to organize and set priorities; quickly learn and apply the goals and objectives of the program, and the policies and regulations of all undergraduate programs. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of work and to interact with and be sensitive to a diverse clientele. Previous work experience in college/university setting desirable. May be required to work outside of traditional business hours with advance notice when possible.

    A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who apply for the position.

    The person holding this position is considered a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083, revised July 21, 2017, as a condition of employment.

    Hiring Range: $4,841 to $5,250 per month
