Job Location: This position will be located at 205 Jefferson St., Jefferson City, MO 65101.
- Provides technical assistance in the promotion, initiation, development, and evaluation of skilled technical sciences programs to reinforce academic education and integrate with workforce and college readiness activities.
- Serves as Missouri’s official state liaison for the Association for Skilled Technical Sciences national and statewide groups, and as ex officio officer for the Missouri Trade and Technical Association.
- Serve as Missouri’s official state liaison for the Missouri School Plant Managers Association and coordinates our Summer Custodial Program.
- Manages our Mentor/Protégé program for Skilled Technical Sciences.
- Knowledge of the principles, practices, teaching methods and current trends of skilled technical sciences education.
- Ability to communicate and express ideas effectively, both orally and in writing, to a variety of audiences.
- Ability to organize and conduct trainings on topics specific to skilled technical sciences educators.
- Ability to establish rapport and maintain effective working relationships with professional and lay persons within and outside the agency.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of career education with extensive knowledge of programs within skilled technical sciences
- Knowledge of administration of career education including an understanding of state-federal and state-local relationships and applicable laws and regulations.
- Ability to work cooperatively with other sections within the department and individuals representing inter-related agencies and organizations.
- Advises local schools and individuals regarding educator and student licensure/certification requirements and program accreditation requirements for skilled technical sciences programs.
- Supports activities in career and technical student organizations such as SkillsUSA.
- Performs effectively as leader and/or member, on High Schools That Work technical assistance visits, and other evaluative reviews; contributes to state-wide grant initiatives; participate on state-wide and Department committees; assist other sections as needed.
- Assist with updates to Skilled Technical Sciences webpage.
- Performs other related work as assigned.
- Demonstrate regular, reliable, and engaged attendance.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor’s in Administrative Leadership, Career Education, Public Affairs, Curriculum and Instruction, Skilled Technical Sciences-related administration or related field.
OR - Four or more years’ experience in educational leadership, career education, skilled technical sciences and/or industrial--related practice or administration, or teaching, preferably in a career education setting.
