Description: Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport is currently seeking an
Airport Operations Specialist for a multi-functional role in an organization that thrives on collaboration, vigor and every-changing challenges. The
Airport Operations Specialist is responsible for, under general supervision, performing a variety of technical, general operations, surveillance and enforcement duties associated with the safe, efficient and continuous operation of the Rocky Mountain Metro Airport. This role will also perform a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled labor tasks associated the operation and maintenance of the airport property and equipment.
The expected hiring rate for this position: $26.00 - $31.00 USD Hourly Total Base Pay Range: 25.78 - 32.23 - 38.67 USD Hourly
Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and skills.
Schedule: Please note the projected schedule for this role is Wednesday-Saturday from 6:30am-5:00pm but requires availability on nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call. Schedules are subject to change at any time based on Airport needs. Must be available to be on-call for special events and for snow removal operations at any time of day.

Essential Duties: The Airport Operation Specialist will be able to :
- Perform routine inspections of all airport property and all aircraft movement areas for FAR-Part 139 compliance and safety. Make work orders and minor airfield maintenance to maintain FAR-Part 139 compliance. Prioritize maintenance operations in the field in limited time-frames. Decide what warrants initiation of work order procedures.
- Identify airport/airfield safety hazards and take correct measures to rectify the situations encountered. Anticipate potential safety hazards and take preventive action to reduce risk to airport users.
- Coordinate and implement airport security programs regulated by the FAA. Provide training to airport tenants, employees of FBO's, flight schools, vendors and contractors and all applicable law enforcement, fire and emergency responders. Decide whether to grant airport access and driving privileges. Make strategic administrative organization and money handling decisions.
- Monitor, respond to and coordinate with Jefferson County Sheriff's Department to enforce all security requirements.
- Provide aircraft fire and crash rescue functions in accordance to FAA regulations along with North Metro Fire District.
- Perform snow removal operations, including strategic planning with snow team call out prediction, performing continuous runway inspections to monitor and report conditions via NOTAMs, and preparation of equipment in advance of snow team arrival.
- Required to be on-call for snow operations at any time of any day. Decide when to initiate snow team call-outs. Prioritize areas of the airport for immediate snow removal and closures. Determine equipment best suited for current conditions.
- Coordinate, monitor and inspect airfield construction sites to ensure compliance with applicable federal aviation regulations and FAA advisory circulars. Report violations or hazards to the Operations Manager.Mitigate all wildlife hazards associated with the airport in a timely manner. Make decisions pertaining to wildlife hazard mitigation techniques and document filing.

- High School Diploma or GED and
- 1 or more years of related work experience.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Job Information: - Must have a valid driver's license, if you are from out of state, you must have a valid Colorado driver's license within 30 days of hire date, and you must not have any major violations, nor more than one DUI, DWI, DWAI conviction in the past three years.
- Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Certificate required within 6 months of hire.
- Must be available to be on-call for special events and available to remove snow from landside and airfield as necessary.
