    Overview

    We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Culture and Engagement Specialist to join our team!

    T his individual will be pivotal in developing, coordinating, and implementing strategies that foster a positive and engaging workplace culture. Key responsibilities include organizing departmental events and other key events, gathering employee feedback and ideas, coordinating onboarding efforts, facilitating internal work groups, and supporting our diversity and inclusion initiatives. The ideal candidate will excel at bringing people together, possess excellent communication skills, and have a strong understanding of how to maintain a positive, engaging and inclusive work environment.

    The typical schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with flexibility for hybrid work. Occasional evening or weekend events may be required.

    Responsibilities

    Specifically, this position:
    • Develops and executes strategies to enhance a positive work culture and employee engagement.
    • Organizes and coordinates inclusive and engaging department events, trainings, and activities.
    • Facilitates or co-facilitates internal work groups and team meetings.
    • Supports collection and analysis of feedback from employees regarding culture, engagement, and retention.
    • Facilitates and supports new employee orientation and first day onboarding.
    • Supports initiatives that promote diversity and inclusion within the workplace.
    • Works with the Office of Communications and Technology to create and distribute internal communications about culture, engagement and wellness initiatives.
    • Works with management and the Health Equity Coordinator to nurture a supportive and inclusive culture and ensure alignment with departmental culture and engagement goals.

    We are looking for a candidate that will:
    • Apply best practices of employee engagement.
    • Demonstrate knowledge and experience with diversity and inclusion initiatives.
    • Analyze and present data and ideas effectively.
    • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of program services; assessment of program needs; offers recommendations for programming.
    • Exhibit proven organizational and event planning skills.
    • Communicate effectively through strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage a variety of audiences.
    • Understand routine software and business applications including, but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and databases.
    • Lead and manage internal workgroups through small group facilitation skills.


    Qualifications

    All candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.
    • Two (2) years in a directly related field or performance of similar duties.
    • Possess reliable transportation to be able to work in any County facility as needed and required.
    • Must be at least 16 years of age.
